Hey I'm Amy, I'll be your instructor today. Todays class is a full body conditioning class to lean & tone your muscles, using Ballet and Pilates principles. I'm joined by the lovely Jake and Mia today, if you're new to Pilates or are a beginner follow along with Jake and Mia as they'll be doing the modifications. If you didn't know I am a former classically trained ballet dancer and todays class is inspired by some of the conditioning classes I used to do to warm-up before ballet, combined with 8 years of Pilates instructing experience. I've also taken inspiration from my weekly Progressing Ballet Classes that I teach to my ballet students. I hope that if you are a dancer you find this class beneficial in not only strengthening and conditioning your muscles to prevent injuries in dance but, also as a way to check in with how your body might be feeling. Dance can be very demanding on our bodies and it's so important to keep our bodies strong and moving well. This is also a great conditioning class in general and by no means do you have to be a dancer to join in and enjoy it!
