Rip Curl the latest company to fall right into the ‘woke hole’

Surf brand Rip Curl has faced major backlash after featuring a transgender woman on their social media account as part of a campaign for women’s surfing. Sasha Lowerson was featured on the company's social media as part of their Meet The Local Heroes of Western Australia campaign. It comes after Rip Curls severed ties with pro-surfer Bethany Hamilton last year. The decision is thought to be related to Hamilton’s public disagreement with transgender athletes competing in women's sports. Sky News host Paul Murray said the sportswear company Rip Curl is just another example of a company falling right into the “woke hole”. The surf brand has since deleted the post featuring Lowerson after facing criticism.
