The terrain of the route was a combination of a moorland paths; a track enclosed by trees and bushes; a short road section and a moorland roadside verge. The walking was easy on level or gradual undulating ground with one short steep descent near the start and a long overall gradual ascent. The short steep descent can be slippery in wet weather and the track may be muddy. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.
