This panel at Yale @ Climate Week NYC 2025 focused on the importance of centering consciousness, the arts, and healthcare through a planetary health lens. It is rooted in the conviction that enduring climate action must move both the mind and spirit to be effective, as well as enduring. Moreover, at the heart of this dialogue is also the belief that scientific knowledge alone is not enough – we must ignite imagination and emotion as well as collective purpose and action. The session featured Professor Susan Prescott from the University of Western Australia and the Nova Institute, and Professor AZA Allsop from Howard University and the Yale School of Medicine. Moderated by Professor Christine Rodriguez from the Yale School of Nursing, the speakers illustrated the synergistic power of healthcare, research, and artistic expression to explore storytelling, emotional engagement, culturally sensitive advocacy, and overall, climate resilience and planetary healing. Speakers: Dr. AZA Allsop, MD, PhD, Director of the Center for Collective Healing, Howard University; Assistant Professor, Yale School of Medicine Dr. Christine Rodriguez, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, MDiv, MA, FNYAM, FAAN, Associate Dean of Nursing Impact; Assistant Professor, Yale School of Nursing Dr. Susan Prescott, MD, PhD, Professor of Planetary Health, University of Western Australia; Director, Center for Planetary Consciousness and Global Flourishing, Nova Institute for Health Learn more about Yale @ Climate Week NYC: https://climateweek.yale.edu/
