In this upload, I'm running two sessions comprising of LMS coaches at different stages of their operational life in the B.R. era. First up is a scene corresponding to 1962-4 with an E.E. Type 4 diesel-electric (later Class 40) in charge of the 'Mid-Day Scot' with a long rake of BR. Mk.1 coaches. Stanier Pacifics find themselves relegated to less prestigious duties, but still in considerable use and in this instance a 'Coronation' Class in faded maroon livery is in charge of an 'extra/relief' express comprised wholly of ex LMS stock. Also, in faded green livery, another 'Coronation' is seen in charge of a heavy parcels train. The second session represents the early 1950s, circa 1950/2 with a blue 'Coronation' hauling the then brand new Mk1 coaches in crimson and cream on the 'Royal Scot' whilst in the opposite direction a 'Princess' hauls an express comprised entirely of ex LMS coaches also in crimson and cream. During the 1950s, LMS coaches could still be found on front line duties, a significant number of which were built under B.R. auspices. As the 1950s drew to a close these vehicles were cascaded down to less important duties with withdrawals starting in earnest in 1962 of the pre-war constructed vehicles, and the post war stock finally going by 1968. LMS designed ''Sleepers' continued into the mid 1970s. Models showcased here are by Hornby, Mainline and Bachmann, plus a solitary GUV from Lima. I'll leave you to work out which one are which. Thank you for watching.
