Welcome back to Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. This is the fifth instalment in the Delta Force franchise, as created by Novalogic in 2003, and is a Sandbox Tactical Shooter. The story follows the missions of Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta, also known as the Delta Force, as they tackle Farah Aideed and the Habar Gedir in an interventionist effort to bring freedom and peace to the people of Mogadishu who are being controlled by the warlord, using guns and food scarcity. The game has more scripted events as compared to its predecessors and a more linear level structure, giving it a more action-oriented vibe. However, it still requires the player to remain cautious and plan their tactics on the fly, making it a tactical shooter. The Team Sabre Expansion pack features further scenarios featuring the Delta Force and their operations in both Colombia and Iran. Now that the immediate problem has been taken care of and Paulo is set on the back foot, licking his wounds, Delta is free to take the war to him. But they first need to figure out where Paulo is. For that, they mount a raid upon his secret shipping facility hidden underground in the vicinity of Ixtana. The plan is to approach by river and enter full-force into the base, raid the underground bunkers, and grab all possible intelligence before extracting. The mission almost went as straightforward as it was planned. The only kink was the inclusion of hostages being held by Paulo. That, and the incursion of waves upon waves of reinforcements, forced Delta into a corner. However, you don't push a wild animal into one, and the contras paid a heavy toll for their foolish mistakes. By the time the extraction convoy led by the Rangers arrived, Delta had already taken care of the task at hand.
