Severe weather overnight has left Townsville drowning under floodwaters, where between 250-350mm of torrential tropical rain under a convergence zone persisted all night. More rainfall will continue through this morning, which will at times be heavy, however the worst of the rain will ease off later today. More rain is forecast into the last few days of March, and there is a good chance of heavy rainfall across parts of WA as tropical cyclone activity brews.
