Ultrasound Features: An irregular heterogeneously hypoechoic mass is seen arising predominantly from the right lateral rectal wall causing significant compression of the lumen with an extra-serosal extension/ invasion into the adjacent fat plane at the right lateral wall. Color Doppler shows prominent internal & peripheral vascularity. Multiple (3+), irregular, enlarged, hypoechoic lymph nodes with loss of hilar echoes are seen in the fat plane surrounding the rectum. Remember: A combination of convex, linear & transrectal transducers during the ultrasound scan may help report down more findings which we commonly evaluate on MRI. Thank you for watching.
