BABY SWAPPED AFTER DELIVERY CLAIMS FAMILY, DOCTORS DENYING ALLEGATION

At the Civil hospital in Mohali a family was handed over a baby girl instead of a baby boy. The parents of the baby accused that their baby has been swapped. But the doctors said that nothing of this sort has happened. On the parents’ complaint two employees of the hospital have been suspended. After the delivery, Paramjeet Singh, his mother and his mother-in-law who were waiting outside the delivery room were informed that they have been blessed with a son. The hospital employees even made the child wear baby boy’s clothes and asked the family to not unwrap the baby as its very cold. But later in the evening when the baby was crying they un-wrapped the baby to change its clothes and that is when they revealed that it’s a baby girl and not a boy. After this the family protested against the doctors but nobody paid heed to their trouble. When Dr Neen who delivered the baby was asked about this, she said that there was only one delivery which happened and it was a baby girl. The mother of the newborn claims that during her delivery the doctor didn’t even show her the baby and that is why she feels that her child has been changed with a baby girl. She says that that whosoever has committed this crime shall not be spared. On the other hand the hospital’s SMO Dr Goldy said that if a written complaint will be given then they will take some action and also get a DNA done of the mother and baby-girl.
