With Tentgram’s plantation hostel, which is housed in the middle of a tea plantation, we seek to freeze time and unravel the history of Munnar which is at its core the story about how the British fell in love with the tea grown in one of the most inaccessible parts of the then Travancore kingdom. Tentgram’s Plantation Hostel is a sincere effort to retain the old-school charm of colonial architecture and blend it with modern aesthetic sensibilities. The building used to be a hospital constructed during the 1920s for the purpose of providing healthcare facilities to thousands of plantation laborers. Located right at the heart of ‘Harrison Malayalam Tea Plantation’ with an area of over 150 acres, this hostel is a ‘cellar of stories’.
