*The Son of God Who Paid the Temple Tax (Matthew 17:24–27)* *Introduction* This passage reveals three important truths. First, the world did not recognize Jesus as the Son of God. People saw Him only as a great prophet or teacher, which is why the temple tax collectors questioned Peter, implying that Jesus might be neglecting the Law. Second, even Peter, who confessed Jesus as the Christ, failed to apply that confession to real life. Without thinking deeply, he answered that Jesus paid the tax, revealing that in practical matters he still viewed Jesus as an ordinary teacher. Third, Jesus knew Peter’s weakness and used this moment to teach him. By explaining that the children of a king are exempt from taxes and then providing the coin through a miracle, Jesus revealed His divine authority and strengthened Peter’s faith through real experience. *Main Message* First, the world still does not know that Jesus is the Christ. Therefore, it cannot understand the value of Scripture, worship, prayer, the church, or evangelism. These are spiritual privileges known only to believers. God created humanity to worship Him, but after sin entered the world, people replaced God with money, power, success, and human desires. As a result, the world continues to live in suffering. Second, the greater problem is that even believers often live as if they do not truly believe. Though they confess Christ in church, they fail to trust Him in daily life and do not enjoy their identity as children of God. This happens because they do not understand spiritual mysteries—what truly occurs in worship and prayer. Their faith becomes routine, limited to Sunday worship, lacking power to overcome the world or save others. Third, Jesus gave Peter an opportunity to experience faith. He did not rebuke him but allowed a miracle to occur so that Peter could encounter the reality of who Jesus is. Catching a fish with a coin in its mouth revealed Jesus’ authority over all creation. The purpose was not money but faith—an unshakable conviction that Jesus is truly the Son of God. Even today, Jesus patiently strengthens our faith through real answers in our lives. *Conclusion* Living a Life That Believes in the Son of God Who Paid the Temple Tax This year, we have received the covenant “The Watchtower of God’s Kingdom.” To fulfill this, we have been given three missions. Those who truly believe in God hold firmly to His Word. 1. Become a Summit Club and build the watchtower of prayer. Wake up at 5 a.m. and go to the place of prayer. Gain the five strengths (spiritual power, intellectual power, physical strength, economic power, and human resources). Prepare the five vessels (meditation, deep breathing, balance in life, 300% professional study, and the life of an evangelist). 2. Become a Red Diamond and build the watchtower of disciples within the church. Like the coworkers in Romans 16, become three kinds of disciples: A secret force that prays 24 hours for the church and establishes it through personal tithes Holy Masons who build the Temple of Light through the answer of 25 The Remnant Ministry that leaves behind 5G as an eternal work 3. Become a Camp Team and build the watchtower of evangelism in the field. The three successes of today (today’s Word, today’s evangelism, today’s prayer) Gatherings of light (cell groups, team ministry, mission homes, professional churches, local churches) Find absolute disciples and establish the absolute watchtower The Son of God who paid the temple tax— may this be a year in which we believe in Jesus not only with our heads, but with our lives. I bless you in the name of the Lord.
