Ultrafast lasers have found very interesting applications in industries like semiconductor, consumer electronics, watch, automotive or medical and healthcare. Their ability to perform high-precision tasks with minimal heat damage to surrounding materials makes them and ideal tool for applications that require precise, non-thermal processing, such as micro-machining, additive manufacturing or medical surgery. Properties of ultrafast lasers are also very interesting for bio-imaging, spectroscopy or quantum and scientific research. In the last years, we have seen a lot of new and amazing developments. The possibility of emitting at different wavelengths (such as 2 and 3 microns) open the room for new use cases and improvements in material processing. On the other hand, the development of new components for ultrafast lasers is driving significant advancements in a wide range of applications, from micromachining to medical imaging and scientific research. Key innovations include ultra-high precision optics, such as multilayer coatings and adaptive lenses, which enable better control of pulse duration and beam quality. Additionally, the integration of pulse compression techniques has enabled the generation of femtosecond pulses with exceptional stability and consistency. And new solutions have been applied to increase the power of the lasers pulses. All these advancements are making ultrafast lasers more powerful, reliable, and versatile.
