This is a unique 1974 studio tape of Eric Stewart mono alternate 'TV' mixes of 10cc singles and album tracks for Opsis Films. Three of these are especially notable as radio/TV-friendly mixes with any hints of bad language removed... The Rubber Bullets one especially caught me by surprise! Track listing: Sand in My Face The Dean and I Speed Kills Fresh Air For My Mama Old Wild Men Headline Hustler ('CID' lyric inserted in place of 'CIA') The Worst Band in the World ('Don't give up' and 'I'm yours/I'm mine' lyrics inserted) Rubber Bullets ('Brawling in the street' lyric inserted) Our learned friend Liam Newton (author of the wonderful '10cc - The Worst Band in the World') has a theory about what exactly this tape is: "My guess is that it dates to around February 1974 and is the backing track they mimed to when they filmed their Don Kirshner Rock Concert segment. That performance starts with ‘Sand In My Face’ and then moves on to ‘The Dean and I’ and includes ‘Fresh Air’, ‘Headline Hustler’ and ‘Rubber Bullets’. ‘Old Wild Men’ was filmed in the same setting and this clip was shown on ‘OGWT’."
