I think this version of Raiden is my favorite. The colors are good, (I think Turbo Grafx had good grafx) the controls are tight, and the gameplay is as good as the arcade (actually better because I don't like large clunky arcade joysticks). The only thing that either doesn't measure up to other ports or isn't better is the music, really. Not the Turbo Grafx strong suite, but none of these early consoles had great audio, until games started coming out on cd. The other thing I love about this Raiden over other ports is the simplified and unobtrusive GUI, usually about a quarter of the screen real-estate is taken up by it, but in this port they just overlay it at the bottom, giving you the entire screen to move as you please. Very nice.
