This is my story & a very vulnerable piece of my heart. Please treat it with respect. The struggles through motherhood are full of challenges on all levels. I feel so blessed to be a constant witness to God’s plan for my life unfolding. This post is to all those who are wanting babies so badly but haven’t been able to have them, to those without mothers who desperately wish they had one in their lives, to the birth moms who have sacrificed beyond comprehension for their babies, to the single moms who are doing it all, to the women who step up as moms to the motherless & to the dads who are playing both mom & dad & sacrificing everything for their babies. I see you. These are all “motherhood” situations that are near and dear to my heart. As a child, Mother’s Day was always hard because I didn’t have a mom who was present. As an adult, I struggled with infertility for a lot of years. I’ve experienced the devastating heartache of negative pregnancy tests month after month & year after year when I so desperately wanted to be pregnant. I’ve experienced the heartbreaking loss of miscarriage and the struggle of infertility treatments. I was raised by a single dad who gave us the world in the face of so many struggles and along the way I’ve had a few women who have stepped up & loved me in a way that only a mother can. Here I sit…at 42 years old with the absolute God given gift of mothering SIX incredible babies and my heart is so full. Through the years, I became a mom through the beautiful blessing of adoption, gave birth to 3 babies after grueling fertility treatments, was blessed with 2 incredible girls through Dan (& have 1 bonus daughter from my previous marriage). Anyways, I just want to say that I love you all. I see your struggles. I just want to tell you that God has a plan…we can’t always see that plan…sometimes for YEARS AND YEARS as we struggle and wonder why. But I promise you, He knows you. Put your trust in Him & all things will work together for your good.
