The A76 is a motorway in the extreme southeast of the Netherlands in the province of Limburg. Together with the A2 and A79 motorways, the A76 forms a highway triangle in the South Limburg region. The highway runs through the hilly landscape of southern Limburg. The video starts at the Vetschau border crossing where the A76 turns into the German A4. We pass the city of Heerlen on the west side. This is also where the connection to the A79 motorway in the direction of Maastricht is located. North of Heerlen, the highway gets twisty and tighter. We descend towards the city of Geleen. Near Geleen we pass the chemical industrial park Chemelot, recognizable in the video by the many lights. After Chemelot, the Kerensheide junction follows where the A76 connects to the A2 motorway (Maastricht - Amsterdam). From here it continues for a few kilometers to the (south)west. Via the 1.3 kilometer long Scharberg Bridge we enter Belgium where this video ends. The images were taken in the early morning just before sunrise. It is light enough to see the surroundings of the highway, it is dark enough to show all the lights in the immediate vicinity. =================================== De A76 is een autosnelweg in het uiterste zuidoosten van Nederland in de provincie Limburg. Samen met de autosnelwegen A2 en A79 vormt de A76 een snelwegdriehoek in de regio Zuid-Limburg. De snelweg loopt door het Zuid-Limburgse heuvellandschap. De video begint ter hoogte van grensovergang Vetschau waar de A76 overgaat in de Duitse A4. We passeren de stad Heerlen aan de westzijde. Hier bevindt zich ook de aansluiting op snelweg A79 richting Maastricht. Ten noorden van Heerlen wordt de snelweg bochtig en krapper. We dalen af richten de stad Geleen. Ter hoogte van Geleen passeren we het chemische industriepark Chemelot, in de video herkenbaar aan de vele lichtjes. Na Chemelot volgt knooppunt Kerensheide waar de A76 aansluit op autosnelweg A2 (Maastricht - Amsterdam). Vanaf hier gaat het nog een paar kilometer verder naar het (zuid)westen. Via de 1,3 kilometer lange Scharbergbrug rijden we België binnen waar deze video eindigt. De beelden zijn gemaakt in de vroege ochtend vlak voor zonsopkomst. Het is licht genoeg om de omgeving van de snelweg te kunnen zien, het is donker genoeg om alle lichtjes in de directe omgeving in beeld te brengen.
