This video introduces the concept of kinetic energy (energy in the kinetic store). Kinetic energy is the energy stored in moving objects. The kinetic energy of an object depends on two factors: Mass Velocity The kinetic energy of an object increases linearly with an increase in mass e.g. if the mass is doubled, then the kinetic energy is doubled. However, if the velocity is doubled, then the kinetic energy stored in the object increases by a factor of four.
