On Tuesday, 26 November 2024 ECSECC hosted a webinar on Empowering Local Economies: Trade and Investment Promotion Strategies for Municipalities. The webinar was attended by stakeholders working on local economic development, municipal managers, CEO's of development agencies, officials from national and provincial government departments and other development practitioners. The webinar explored the role of municipalities in stimulating economic growth and job creation through trade and investment promotion. It also shared insights gained from a pilot project with four municipalities, highlighting best practices on how municipalities can effectively package and market key projects to attract investment. The session also discussed strategies and interventions for supporting businesses and investors at local level, addressing barriers to trade and investment. This is a recording of the discussion.
