In Game 2 of the quarterfinal series between Allianz Milano and Rana Verona, fans witnessed an incredible five-set battle and a huge comeback victory. The match was played on March 15, 2026 at the Allianz Cloud in Milan as part of the playoffs of the Italian Volleyball SuperLega. Milano started the match strongly and quickly took control of the game. After a very tight first set that ended 27–25, the home team continued to play with confidence and won the second set 25–20, taking a 2–0 lead and putting Verona under huge pressure. However, Verona responded in spectacular fashion. Led by their experienced setter Micah Christenson, the team completely changed the rhythm of the match. Verona improved their serving, blocking and transition attack, dominating the third set 25–16 and bringing themselves back into the match. The fourth set became much more balanced, with both teams fighting point by point. In the crucial moments Verona managed to stay calmer and closed the set 25–22, forcing a dramatic fifth-set tie-break. The deciding set delivered pure playoff drama. Both teams exchanged points in a tense battle, with neither side able to create a big advantage. In the end Verona held their nerve and won the tie-break 17–15, completing an incredible reverse sweep to take the match 3–2.
