Along with pressure from the husband’s mother for dowry, the situation escalated, leading to Pooja Shree leaving the matrimonial home several times. Despite multiple family-mediated reconciliations, the abuse allegedly continued. On her return after a recent altercation, Pooja Shree was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her husband’s house. Based on a police complaint by her parents, a case under dowry harassment laws has been registered, and the husband has been arrested. This case highlights the ongoing issue of dowry-related abuse and the severe consequences it can lead to. A young child is now left orphaned due to domestic conflict.
