This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this quick talk, Dr. Peter Schultz outlines the goals and projects of the Longspur Prairie Fund. Longspur is dedicated to fostering the experiences, insights, and pleasures found in the native landscapes of the Red River Valley by way of advocacy, education, and conservation. Longspur protects native plants, animals, habitats, and their ecologies. Longspur respects farmers, hunters, business owners, their properties, and their communities. Longspur teaches the wisdom of the prairie through the arts and sciences. Longspur restores native landscapes and preserves them for all time. Concordia College Professor and Art Department Chair, Peter Schultz is passionate about preserving the prairie and has a bold vision of what could happen in our region. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
