In the Old Testament, God declares His oneness and eternal nature in Deuteronomy 6:4, “The Lord our God, the Lord is one,” and reveals His self-existent name in Exodus 3:14, “I AM WHO I AM.” His holiness is proclaimed in Isaiah 6:3, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts,” and His sovereignty and power are declared in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” His steadfast love and mercy are shown in Exodus 34:6–7, where He describes Himself as “merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.” In the New Testament, God’s nature is further revealed through Jesus Christ, as John 1:1,14 declares the Word was God and became flesh, and Colossians 1:15–17 describes Christ as the image of the invisible God. God’s love is clearly stated in 1 John 4:8, “God is love,” while His justice and righteousness are affirmed in Romans 2:6–11. His unchanging nature is confirmed in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Together, these scriptures reveal that God is one, eternal, holy, Creator, Redeemer, just Judge, and loving Father — consistent in character from Genesis to Revelation.
