There are more then one version of her real name, place of birth and final resting place. One account has her birth name as Sadie Isabella Peterson. She is also known as Isabella Heskett Haskins. She married C.C. Heskett after high school but ended up running off with her boyfriend (pimp) Fred Skinner aka Fred Davis. She worked as a Saloon Girl in Rhyolite during it's heyday and was eventually murdered by Fred Skinner on January 8, 1908. There is a grave between the mine and the jail in sight of the prison windows that is said to be her grave. Other rumors have her buried in the main cemetery down the road. And still other rumors have her final resting place in Seattle. In Rhyolite she was known as Mona Belle. She was 20 years old when she was murdered. Legend has it that they buried her in sight of the jail so her killer could see her grave as punishment. Other stories have Fred jailed at Beatty Nevada 5 miles down the road to protect him from a lynch mob that wanted to take revenge on him for Isabella's murder.
