STIHL are launching three powerful and robust new professional battery-powered lawnmowers that are perfectly suited to demanding lawn care. Adding to the already extensive STIHL AP System of battery tools, the new battery powered lawn mowers are equivalent in performance to the well-respected 7 series petrol mowers. The STIHL RMA 750 V is the smallest of the new mowers with a 48cm cutting width, and there is also an RMA 756 V battery mower with a 54cm cutting width. These are 4-in-1 cordless mowers capable of cutting and collecting, cutting and dropping, side discharge and mulching. This model is the STIHL RMA 7 RV which is a dedicated mulching mower with a cutting width of 51cm. The 7 series battery powered mowers are the first to feature the new double AP battery platform, combining two 36 volt batteries into a 72 volt STIHL AP lawn mower. This significantly increases the power output of the machine to 2.8 kilowatts of mechanical power, making them comparable to the petrol 7 series mowers. This impressive power results in a mower capable of cutting large areas of overgrown grass, with no compromise in cut or collection quality. The mono-comfort handlebar is standard across all new cordless mowers and improves access to the collection bag on the cut and collect models. The construction of the handlebar is extremely sturdy, thanks to the aluminium mounting brace and steel upper section. The canvas collection bag included with the STIHL RMA 750 V and RMA 756 V battery powered mowers has a large 80 litre capacity, and a fill level indicator on the top. When the bag is full, the airflow drops and this flap drops, indicating that it’s time to empty. For maximum durability, the models feature a powder coated aluminium deck with an abrasion resistant inner casing made from polymer, which is easy and inexpensive to replace. The scuff plates around the deck’s perimeter can also be replaced, offering further protection from obstacles. The mowing blades and the mowing deck have been aerodynamically designed to leave the best finish on any lawn whichever cutting mode is chosen. There is also a pre-defined bending zone in the blade which will protect the motor should you encounter an obstacle on the lawn. Then it’s just a case of a simple blade replacement and you will be ready to mow again. When it comes to using the new RMA 7 Series cordless mower, the power setting and drive speed can easily be adjusted thanks to the intuitive controls and electronic display. You can also check the battery charge level at a glance. These new mowers have three different mowing modes. Eco-mode automatically reduces the RPM when under light load to maximise battery working time. Standard mode can be used for day-to-day work, and finally Auto-Boost can be used to overcome particularly challenging patches of dense grass and vegetation. All new 7 series cordless lawn mowers benefit from variable speed transmission, adjustable in 5 steps from 0 – 6 kilometres per hour. The gearbox is protected by a sturdy cover, preventing damage and premature wear, and the soft start feature prevents the lawn mower from jolting forward, for a more comfortable experience.
