HIMACHAL LINES - Routes Beyond the Map and Mind is a splitboard film from the STILL WILD LINES - The Unwritten Mountains project. It follows a small team of riders as they journey into the Indian Himalaya, where roads end and you are left alone with some of the planet's greatest mountains. Routes are chosen out of a desire to find long and nice descents between remote Tibetan villages and Buddhist monasteries. Part 1 - Overview of Backcountry Splitboarding in the Indian Himalaya This part is about the journey and the feeling of the place. Riders share what it means to move through Himachal in winter, meet local people, live in the mountains and ride long, quiet lines far away from civilization. It is an invitation to see the Indian Himalaya as a real splitboard destination, not just a distant idea. Part 2 - Route Guide for Himachal Backcountry Splitboarding The second part works as a practical route guide. It outlines the key valleys and zones we explored, typical approaches, elevation gain, general aspects and terrain types, plus useful contacts and logistics that matter for a self-organised trip. It is meant as inspiration and a planning tool for experienced ski tourers and splitboarders who want to draw their own lines in these mountains.
