Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. If you are new here, my channel mostly consists of railroad videography from around the Northeastern USA. If you are interested in more content from me, my photography can be viewed on Instagram at: / rail_spike_productions About this video: On June 30, 2025, the daily BNSF southbound auto-rack train to San Diego arrived into town just past noon after taking a delay the night before, when it can usually be seen arriving. Most mainline freight arriving to and departing from San Diego moves through the busiest part of town late at night when pedestrian and road traffic is minimal. Some delays can’t be prevented, however, and the railroads simply have to adjust to any last minute changes that may occur. Another effect of this operation out of the regular town frame is that the usual track that is open for freight to pass through San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot overnight (track 4) was hosting an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner set on layover. As a result, the southbound freight waited for all Coaster Commuter traffic to be clear and passed through the depot on Track 2, one that almost never holds anything but passenger trains while they lay over between runs. I got footage of this operation right at the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego.
