Before we had the likes of Drive to Survive or Liberty Media, America never used to be that interested in Formula One. Despite frequent attempts of shunting the US Grand Prix across the States, the USA proved a stubborn nut for F1 to crack. In an attempt to engage the American public, two men, Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor, proposed entering the sport with a new team, called simply US F1. Unlike American teams of the past, like Shadow or Penske, this outfit would be all-American. Based in America, built and designed by Americans, and even driven by American talents. Despite boasts that this would kickstart the F1 American revolution a decade earlier than reality, US F1 proved nothing but over-optimistic, mistake-ridden and mismanaged.
