HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT ISOLATION FLANGES? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? WHAT IS YOUR IDEA ABOU THE ISOLATION GASKET KITS? IS IT ONLY ONLY TO ISOLATE THE FLANGES ELECTRICALLY?? WHAT IS INSULATION KIT? Insulation Kits are designed to work in conjunction with insulating gaskets to effect the complete electrical insulation of a flanged assembly. Components of Isolation Kits: Isolation Gasket: Made from insulating materials like phenolic, neoprene-faced phenolic, or high-performance materials such as G10, G11, or PTFE. Isolation Sleeves: Non-conductive sleeves fitted over the bolts. Insulating Washers: Placed between the bolt head/nut and the flange face. Steel Washers: Provide structural support and compressive strength. Types of Gaskets: ⁠ Type F (Raised Face) – Fits within the bolt circle and suitable for standard raised face flanges. Type ‘F’ Gaskets are made to fit the raised face portion of the flange only. As there are no bolt holes in the F gasket, the outside diameter of the gasket falls within the inside diameter of the bolt hole circle. ⁠ Type E (Full Face) – Covers the entire flange face; useful for full-face contact and easier alignment. Type ‘E’ Gasket is a full-face gasket with the same outside diameter as the flange and precision cut bolt holes. This design facilitates proper alignment of the gasket during installation. Type ‘E’ gaskets are available in the plain face or as well as a variety of high-temperature materials. ⁠ Type D (RTJ) – Designed for Ring Type Joint flanges; includes specially shaped gaskets to fit RTJ grooves. Type ‘D’ Gaskets are specifically designed to fit into the ring groove of ring-type joint flanges. They are manufactured of a fabric reinforced glass epoxy phenolic material and are sized to ANSI specifications available in a basic oval as well as an octagonal shape. Also available are BX gaskets with pressure ratings of 15,000 psi. Type ‘O’gasket - These are extra special as they feature an additional sealing element on both sides of the device, generally, PTFE, Nitrile, or Viton Rubber, and are available in both ring and full-face designs (type E and F).
