The stomach is also called a gaster, it is the part of the GI tract, It extends from the lower end of the esophagus (at the level of T 11th vertebra ) to the first part of the small intestine called, the duodenum (at the lower level of L1st vertebra), it allows the digestion for carbohydrates, protein, and fat. It is a 25 c.m. long muscular pouch-like structure, in an empty state it looks like the letter"J", but when it is partially filled with food it becomes pear or pyriform shaped. It is located in the abdominal cavity below the diaphragm, left and in the superior aspect, in the umbilical, epigastric, and left hypochondriac region. 𝗜𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝟮 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 - 1.
