Step-by-Step instructions on how to replace a Thermistor on a Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid or Jenn Air refrigerator. There are two thermistors in this refrigerator. One is located in the freezer compartment and the other is located in the main refrigerator compartment. The thermistors measure the air temperature inside the refrigerator and freezer compartments. The temperature from the sensor is then communicated to the main control board where it will then use that information to properly control the cooling cycles. If the thermistor fails it can cause the refrigerator to not cool properly and get too cold or not cold enough.
