Be Built In Isaiah 44:28, God speaks through a pagan king, Cyrus, declaring over Jerusalem, “Be built!” and over the Temple, “Your foundation shall be laid!” This same God who chose Cyrus 150 years before his birth has also chosen us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). Just like Cyrus, we too have been chosen, called, and anointed—not because we knew God, but because He knew us. Through Christ, we have received the same anointing of the Spirit, enabling us to fulfill all His purpose. In the New Testament, Jerusalem represents the Body of Christ and the Temple represents each believer. God now puts His word in the mouth of His anointed ones to declare: “Be built! Be founded! Be established!” Isaiah 61:4 reveals who will rebuild ancient ruins: the very people God redeemed, healed, and anointed. So let us rise as oaks of righteousness—speaking God’s establishment over our lives and over those around us! Be built. Be established. Walk in your calling.
