In this video we are discussing France's borders to its neighbouring countries of Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Spain & Andorra. We will explain the history behind the borders and look at the historical development of the French territory. We will start by going over the History of Normandy, and then move clockwise over the northeastern and eastern border. We will look at the southern border towards Spain, but also explain France's border to the small nations of Monaco and Andorra, as well as its overseas borders in French Guiana and on the Caribbean island of St Martin. We are aware that giving exact dates for a physical expression like a country border can be tricky and prone to oversimplification, so we welcome any constructive criticism and debates in the comments and our Discord server.
