DAY 60 ZOE DAILY DEVOTIONS 1 MARCH 2026 Zoe Daily Devotions is a Movement of Daily Bible Reading in One Year through the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This is a place of encountering Jesus through the word of God. Title: The Great Exchange at the Cross In Proverbs 6:12–19, we see God’s holy reaction to evil. Pride, lies, violence, and division are not minor flaws—they damage lives and grieve the heart of a holy God. His hatred of sin is not spiteful, but the loving opposition of purity against what destroys His creation. The cross reveals both His justice and His mercy. In Gospel of Mark 10:32–52, Jesus explains that His death was not accidental but intentional. He came “to give His life as a ransom for many.” He would suffer as Servant, Saviour, and Substitute—drinking the cup of judgment in our place. While the disciples sought position, Bartimaeus sought sight. He cried for mercy—and received it. In Leviticus 5–7, the guilt offerings foreshadow Christ’s sacrifice. Blood was required for forgiveness, pointing to the perfect offering of Jesus. When we grasp the seriousness of sin, we understand the greatness of grace. Like Bartimaeus, cry out for mercy—and your eyes will be opened. SCRIPTURE READING Proverbs 6:12-19; Mark 10:32-52; Leviticus 5:14-19; Leviticus 6; Leviticus 7:1-10 TREASURE SCRIPTURE Proverbs 6:16-17 NKJV 16These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, What the Lord Hates “Haughty eyes” reveal pride—a posture of self-exaltation that looks down on others. Scripture consistently warns that pride leads to downfall. It stands in sharp contrast to Jesus, who humbled Himself and took the form of a servant. Where pride elevates self, holiness bows before God. “A lying tongue” destroys trust and fractures community. From the commandments to the teachings of Jesus, truthfulness reflects God’s character. Deception belongs to darkness; truth reflects the One who is Truth. Our words carry power—to wound or to heal. “Hands that shed innocent blood” expose the seriousness of violence and injustice. From Abel’s blood crying out in Genesis 4 to the prophetic cries for justice, God defends the innocent. Ultimately, innocent blood was shed at the cross—Jesus, the spotless Lamb, suffering in our place. These verses remind us: sin is not small in God’s sight. Yet the cross shows that mercy is greater still. MEMORY VERSE Proverbs 6:18-19 NKJV 18A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. PRAYER Heavenly Father, open my eyes to see the cost of my sin and the depth of Your love. Thank You for the cross. Cleanse my heart from pride, guard my tongue with truth, and keep my hands from harm. Shape and mold me to reflect Your holiness. Amen.
