The Great Divide is a grade 4 percussion ensemble for 11 players composed by Drew Morris. It utilizes stereophonic staging to simulate the panning effect used to move sounds from speaker to speaker. It relies heavily on a groove that comes from bouncing back and forth from 7/8 to 4/4 time signatures. It could work well on a concert stage or a competitive indoor concert percussion show.
