Replacing links in flat Conveyor chain. Today we're repairing a broken antique flat chain on my firewood conveyor belt on site, in the cold and snow. I was very glad to spot it broken but still working before it caused more damage or jammed up where I could not reach it. I also take you into the shop to show you a closeup of how the links come apart and fit together. There are many types of chain used for conveyors, this type of flat chain is very common, simple and reliable as long as it is not used in high speed applications. Modern flat chain is made from stamped steel. As demonstrated, individual links can be put together or taken apart using simple tools, unlike roller chain which requires a master link or special splicing equipment. I bought this old corn conveyor for 400$. I have done quite a bit to make it more reliable, but still one of my best purchases ever. As from my Knipex pliers: I always have these fantastic little Knipex pliers on my left side, and my Gerber multi-tool on the right. Not used every day, but certainly every couple for some reason or another. I would recommend them to anyone. ________________________________________________ Check out my Instagram: / loves.loud.cars Get your own Ferro Rod at my ETSY Store: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/10162...
