Located on the lakeshore, The Fontenay is Hamburg’s leading 5-star hotel. In his designs for the hotel, Hamburg-born architect Jan Störmer was inspired by the park landscape and the waterline of Lake Alster. The organic shape of the building is designed to make you think of large treetops, blending seamlessly with their surroundings, creating a balance between nature and the urban sphere. William Brand was commissioned to create the space-defining installation for the 27-meter high atrium. He sought to create a contrast with the mathematical rhythm of the panelling, by means of a lighting sculpture that is amorphous yet characterful. For restaurant Park View, our atelier sculpted the lights for the most discreet of hospitality spaces; the private dining room.
