#housedesign #homeandgarden #glass #residential #architecture Optical Glass House, designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP, is a unique residence located in downtown Hiroshima, Japan. To achieve privacy and tranquility amid the city’s hustle and bustle, the house features a large optical glass façade composed of approximately 6,000 pure glass blocks, which also serve as sound insulation and a striking visual element. The glass refracts and reflects light, creating dynamic patterns that change throughout the day. A garden positioned along the street side connects the interior spaces with nature, enhancing the living experience. The glass façade is structurally supported by a concealed steel framework, allowing it to appear lightweight and transparent like a cascading waterfall. This house beautifully merges technical precision with poetic spatial design, offering a peaceful sanctuary within a dense urban setting.
