About the game: Chocobo Racing for the PlayStation 1 is a whimsical racing game that takes players on a thrilling adventure through a very cartoonified version of Final Fantasy. More than just a Mario Kart clone, Chocobo Racing attempts to live up to what Final Fantasy fans might expect with a longer narrative focused around finding crystals, though its all told through a simple pop up book style giving it more of a childish vibe compared to the more adult oriented Final Fantasy games, but despite its childish demeanor, the gameplay is tougher than it looks. Playing similar to Mario Kart, players chose between a variety of racers, each with their own special abilities as they race to the finish. On top of their own abilities, players can pick up power ups which they can stack to create even more powerful attacks in order to bring home the gold!
