Sorry I haven't uploaded anything in so long, my muse has gone walkabouts. Anyways, this is for Azuraann's Beta Battle Tournament. I didn't really like the song (seems I wasn't the only one...) but I quite enjoyed editing to it anyway, because it's so different from my usual style. And there are sooooo many effects. Seriously, there are more effects shoved into these two minutes than I have in like all my other vids put together. So shield your eyes if you're allergic. Note: About half way through the vid, there is a black gap. That is not because I didn't put any footage there, it's because Vegas / the footage decided it didn't like me. And can I be bothered rendering it all over again when the time now is exactly 4.25 AM? My arse I can. Inspiration (and extra footage) for this video came from the film 'The Matrix'. I was drawing a complete blank on what to do for this, and then I stumbled upon this movie, rewatched it after quite a few years, and fell in love with it again. xP It's such an awesome film. Um... not amazingly happy with the result of this vid. I'd have liked to have spent longer on it, coz there are loads of mistakes and demented bits. You can kind of tell that I was rushing towards the end... the video gradually deteriorates the further you get, as you can probably tell... There's a story to this, but I can't be bothered writing it out all story-like as I usually do, so I'll just tell you what happens: There are two huge superpowers that control pretty much the entire planet between them. One is Shinra, headed by Rufus, and the other is thinks of a random name RewopRepus, which is headed by Kadaj. For years, these two superpowers have been at war on and off, reaching empty truces, the fighting always starting again every few years for meaningless reasons. Rufus and Kadaj are two isolated figures who own, but don't really run, the companies. They're enemies, but also, though they'd never admit it, kind of friends. So, at the '4 months earlier' bit, which is before the main storyline with Riku and Roxas, the two have a conversation: Kadaj: "Put the President on." Asking to speak to the President (Rufus). Rufus: "The nightmare returns." By this he means that the fighting has begun again, the temporary truce broken. Kadaj: "As long as you exist, the nightmare will come again and again." He really despises Shinra, and the way everything there is run. He blames them for the fighting, saying that as long as they exist, fighting will always be inevitable. Rufus: "It won't matter. We'll stop you every single time." We'll stop your attack. We'll fight back. You can't beat us, is what he means. Kadaj: "Then lets put an end to all this." There's really no point in all this fighting. Rufus: "Bring your Jenovas and your Sephiroths." In this AU, Jenovas and Sephiroths are the names given to human computer constructs. These can fight, think for themselves, etc, but can't exist outside a computer. They are essentially computer programmes (feeling the Matrix?). By asking Kadaj to bring these, he means that they'll fight each others computer constructs to decide the outcome of the battle. A battle of technology rather than people. Kadaj: "Fine." He agrees to this plan. Over the next 4 months, they create/improve their models, until finally they're ready to fight. They create a entire environment for them to fight in, a metropolis, and the two fight. The battle lasts for a long time. Days? Weeks? Months? Who knows. Rufus and Kadaj are always adding updates, upgrading their fighters. Everything balances on these two computer generated characters. After a while the two once young figures of Riku and Roxas (Riku's silver hair showing him to be Kadaj's puppet, Roxas's blond hair showing he's Rufus's) become unrecognisable. Riku's hair grows long, his face crueller, and his weapon elongates. Roxas's spikes get a little longer, and he starts to look older. (They are now played by Cloud and Sephiroth, incase you didn't get that.) The battle becomes fiercer and fiercer, until finally the computers break down, errors occur, the system overloads and fails. Riku and Roxas escape and take revenge on their puppet masters, who created them and forced them to fight and fight and fight, not realising that they were in fact real, living, breathing humans who just wanted to live. With the deaths of the companies' leaders, Shinra and RewopRepus fell and eventually joined forces and everyone was at peace again.
