We are sisters on a mission to share our love for tinkering and creating. Our goal is to create a comfortable, safe space for students to learn about technology ranging from new learners to advanced students ready to take their skills to the next level. In addition, we work to create meaningful relationships between students and instructors to serve as STEM role models. We are grateful to have each other to lean on as sisters and as business partners, especially this year. Like many others, the goals we set for ourselves in 2020 quickly faded away. We started off the year with our highest quarter to date and followed it swiftly with the lowest in five years - a 95% revenue loss. The heart of our business has been our brick-and-mortar creativity centers and our summer camps; both a major financial loss this year. Planning for a big year, we had opened a new site less than 6 months prior, invested heavily in products and school programs, and were growing our team. Amidst it all our flagship Claremont location was burglarized and majority of our technology stolen. With uncertainty rampant, we needed to find a way to adapt. So much has changed and continues to change. Over the last 9 months, we have poured our energy into a variety of projects - creating free resources of tutorials and projects that kids could do without parent involvement, offering a “Borrow-a-Bot” program to share robotics kits and technology with local families, creating small-scale (and then larger…) virtual programs, and eventually reopening our center doors with updated safety protocol in place. COVID-19 cases are at an all time high, ICUs inundated, and a painful toll of fatalities rising. We are evermore grateful to have our loved ones and business. We are working harder than ever to continue sharing our love for learning, tinkering, and creating. Thanks to wonderful relationships with our families, community partners, school district and regional partners, and our incredible team, we are surviving and working to find a way to thrive as we look forward. We are grateful to have all that we do as we close this year and look into 2021. Thank you to ABA Los Angeles and Zaw Studios for choosing us to film and share our story! ❤️️
