Canadian Provinces and Territories - Part 1 | British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

In this video series, we are going to get to know Canadian Provinces and territories such as area, population, capital city, economy and so on. I will try my best to include some unique, fun and interesting bits to keep it interesting Canada is the second largest country with the total area of almost 10 million sq. kms, it is divided into 10 Provinces and 3 Territories. The major difference is that provinces get their power and authority from the Constitution. If there is any change in responsibility the constitution has to amended, whereas territories get powers from the Parliament of Canada and any change in responsibility is up to the Parliament. List of provinces from west to east, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Can you remember BASMOQN, B for British Columbia, A for Alberta, S for Saskatchewan and so on. Then look at the 3 provinces in the south east Conner, the smaller Island is Prince Edward Island. The other two province Start with N, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia Then the 3 Territories, Youkan, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. British Columbia’s Landscape is impressive; it has massive mountain ranges, beaches that could rival some of the best beaches and the acres of lushes’ forest with lots of wildlife including rainforests. Yes. You heard me right, rainforest in Canada. Out of all provinces and territories of Canada, BC has the mildest climate. Henderson Lake, in Victoria Island receives more rainfall throughout the year than any other place in North America. BC’s capital city Victoria, on Vancouver Island Population is about 5 million, 3rd most populace province and half of all British Columbians live in the Metro Vancouver area, making Vancouver the largest city. British Columbia has the fourth-largest GDP in Canada, with a GDP of about CA$250 billion. Service and Agriculture are the main pillars of its economy Alberta has the endless array of beautiful landscapes including fertile prairies, stunning foothills, mountains, endless amount of thick forest, badlands TONs of dinosaur fossils and many breathtakingly beautiful lakes. Lake Louise is one of the most visited and photographed lakes in the entire world. It’s popular because of its beautiful turquoise water that reflects the surrounding mountains and Victoria Glacier. Alberta is the only rat-free zone in North America! They spend millions of dollars to keep the rats away. Vulcan is famous with Star Trek fans; they took their name to heart and built a 31-foot Starship Enterprise replica next to the spaceship-shaped visitor center St. Paul features a UFO landing pad. Mundare has a 42′ tall world tallest statue of a sausage coil. Sylvan Lake, a small lakeside retreat, has an inland lighthouse. West Edmonton Mall is the largest mall in North America’s, it offers much more than shopping! There’s is a roller coaster, a water park, skating rink, and much more. Alberta’s Capital is Edmonton, Largest city Calgary. Alberta ‘s population is about 4.4 million. It is the 4th most populous province Alberta has the third-largest GDP in Canada, with a GDP of about CA$338 billion. Petroleum, agriculture and technology are the main pillars of its economy. Saskatchewan’s landscape is comprised of grassland, aspen parkland and Boreal forest. It is pretty much a flat land but home to over 100,000 lakes and many sand dunes. The Athabasca Sand Dunes are one of the most northerly active sand dune on the planet it is massive spans over 100km Little Manitou Lake is lighter version of Dead Sea, it is 3 times saltier than the ocean. You can float in it. Regina is the provincial capital. The largest city is Saskatoon; about half the population of the province live here It is the 7th Largest of all provinces and territories, with the area of 651,900 km2. Population is about 1.1 Million and 6th populace place Economy is 5th Largest with 82 billion, traditionally an agro based economy now highly classified. Manitoba is mostly flat with few hills, small mountains and numerous rivers and many large lakes. Most of the province is covered in coniferous forests and home to epic wildlife Churchill, Manitoba is the best place in the world to see the aurora borealis (northern lights) in the world. It is also the polar bear capital of the world and the best place to watch Beluga whale Winnipeg is Manitoba’s capital and the largest city, it is also the geographic center of Canada. Everyone’s favorite bear Winnie-the-Pooh is full name is Winnipeg. A soldier adopted a bare and named it “Winnipeg” after his hometown. Winnie was later donated to the London Zoo and she was hit with the visitors. Did you know Winnipeg was the first in the world to implement the 911 emergency phone number? It is Canada's fifth-most populous province, with a population of almost 1,3 million people. Manitoba’s economy is 7th Largest with 73 billion .
