The best compliment I had ever receive was from this guy I met while volunteering in Greece, he said something along the lines of "I think you're genuinely a good person, when the day is nice and fun if you come it's even better and if it's a shitty day, you make it less shitty" and oh my god I cried for two days (also because my time in Greece was coming to and end lol), but also because I never thought I was that person at that moment. He also said that he was sure that anywhere I go, it would be wonderful and I would always make everything special in my life. I swear this kind of words are so much more important than someons calling me hot or cute because it's much more meaningful. (I swear I'm not trying to brag ((maybe just a little ehhehe) but I wanted to share this story as a reminder that being good to others and ourselves is so so important. ofc not everyday I'm the most bubbly and cheerful person but those words from that guy really made an impact on me and sometimes when I remember it, it makes me want to be my better self. I think it's equally important to have a positive impact in people's lives and be a good presence for others, just as much as we care about how we look for others.
