As born Change Agents, millennials are realizing that public education is the first place for systematic change. Why? Society is created in the classroom. In this talk, Kecia Jones takes millennials on a journey of the roots of public schooling, hilarious experiences as a student, and finally a request for us all to “remember” what it meant to be a student in public school. That should be enough for us to uproot a dead system and create something new. Kecia Jones is an award-winning success coach, former teacher, speaker, and Millennial activist. She is the founder of Millennial Movement, an empowerment agency for youth and young adults. She received Master Coach certification with Inside Track, one of the worlds leading companies on education innovation according to Fast Company Magazine. As a student success coach, Kecia has spent years studying education and success methods for youth & young adults. As a Millennial Activist, she’s quoted to say, “ Millennials aren't lazy. We just don't put energy into systems that don't work. Millennials are the change agents within the greatest time in history, and the first change we will make is in the realm of education. It’s a great Becoming!” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
