Today I am trying out Tombow Irojiten Colored Pencils. I have been a fan of their markers and adhesives for years so I was excited for a chance to try their line of pencils. http://tombowusa.com/ The full line consists of 90 pencils. I received the Rainforest collection of 30 pencils in a decorative book like case. They have a hard, dense lead thant can be sharpened to a point without breaking. The colors will blend well with solvent or by layering. Irojiten pros: Hard lead, good for detail and sharpening up paintings. Leas resists breakage and can be sharpened to a nice point. Less ways so less "wax bloom" can be used with other pencils to refine a drawing/painting. The book packaging is adorable and would make a nice gift. cons: These are not as soft or waxy as other pencils so they will not blend as well. The Tombow brush pens are my favorite waterbased marker for coloring.
