SUMMARY: This presentation will examine the “oneness” of Judaism and Christianity, through the eyes of Old Testament Abraham, demonstrating the continuity of theology and practice from ancient times until today. The singularity of the message in both the Old and New Testaments is further contrasted with identifiable practices which have been minimized and sometimes lost, in 20th century worship, hence affecting the psychological, spiritual, and daily lives of believers. Since mental health has been shown to be undeniably related to one’s spirituality, i.e., belief system, revisiting the roots of Judeo-Christian worship is critical for the therapist and patient alike in the rebuilding of the healthy mind. Critical questions are asked with answers to be found by exploring worshipers themselves. This presentation is based on the book “Secularism, the Church, and the Way Forward” by Richard H. Cox and Blake Barbera (Wipf & Stock Publishers, 2021; https://www.amazon.com/Secularism-Chu.... SPEAKER: Richard H.
