@.gggga on the Mario + Rabbids Speedrunning Discord discovered a glitch similar to the A+B Skill Tree exploit: If you press A+B on a secondary weapon you have unlocked *but not equipped*, go to the skill tree, reset it so the character no longer has Secondary Weapons unlocked, then go back to the weapons screen, the game will prompt you to equip a weapon immediately. If you select "Yes", the game will equip whatever Primary Weapon whose slot corresponds to the Secondary Weapon you *currently have equipped*, regardless of whether or not you've actually unlocked it. The weapon slots are the order they're shown on the weapon select menu. They also noticed that, if you have amiibo weapons unlocked, Yoshi has more Secondary Weapons than Primary Weapons. So, what happens if you try to equip the last Secondary Weapon then? What Primary Weapon does Yoshi use? This video is my unscripted discovery/exploration of what happens. This was my first time trying it, so it takes me a few tries and I make mistakes etc.; regardless, it still shows a lot of interesting features. Doing this will set Yoshi's Primary Weapon to an invalid value. This will have the following effects on the game: In the Battle HQ: - on The Hero Select menu, Yoshi's Primary Weapon box exists but won't list the Rumblebang as his primary weapon. Additonally, the Rumblebang's Description ("Mid-range weapon that fires multiple rounds at once at a single target") is also missing. This is the easiest way to check if you have it equipped. - The Weapon Select menu will assume Yoshi's Egg Creamer is equipped (it'll show weapon comparisons against it, etc.). Equipping a different weapon normally will harmlessly end the glitch. If you enter battle with Yoshi having an invalid primary, and Secondary Weapons HAVE NOT been unlocked in the skill tree: - Attempting to switch to Yoshi or view Yoshi's data in the tacticam will crash the game. If you enter battle with Yoshi having an invalid primary, and Secondary Weapons HAVE been unlocked: - Switching to Yoshi or viewing his data in the tacticam will no longer crash the game. - In the tacticam, his Rumblebang won't be mentioned at all- it will only list his Rocket. When switching to Yoshi, the battle UI will be glitched and there will be a blank space where his Primary Weapon should be. His Secondary Weapon is also missing its outline in the UI. - Functionally, the game will assume Yoshi's Rocket is his only weapon, and as far as I can tell has no issues with this. - Egg Beater will use his Rocket for damage calculations in the Battle UI and Tacticam. Interestingly, this includes the Damage Multiplier. However, similar to the Shield abilities, it has no range. - If anything moves while Egg Beater is active, the game will crash. Range is irrelevant. Peek-a-boos will still set it off (not shown), even though they usually don't interact with reaction shots. Heroes (including Yoshi himself) will still set it off, even though Yoshi can't hit them either. Forced movement via Bounce and Magnet Dance will also set it off. The only way to avoid a game crash is to have no heroes or enemies move at all. Update: after playing around a bit and finding more methods, the crashes when a secondary weapon isn't equipped seem to be caused by *Egg Beater*, as it has no idea how much damage to display. Peach crashes in all the same situations Yoshi does, but Rabbid Yoshi and Rabbid Peach do not. Doesn't seem useful but it's fun to mess around with.
