When you need to feel more calm and grounded, Dirgha Pranayama is the perfect breathing exercise to help connect you to the present moment. In this video, we’re showing you how to do DIRGHA PRANAYAMA \ THREE-PART or PROLONGED BREATH. This breathing technique allows you to focus on the movement of the breath and become more aware of how it feels in various parts of your body. This is especially powerful for our fellow Ashtangis who are used to maintaining thoracic breathing in the chest and shoulders! You’ll learn various options to position your body so the breath can move freely as you work through the prolonged inhalations and exhalations. Practice alongside Jelena as David guides you through this pranayama, giving cues to help you understand the movement by visualizing the breath as it moves fully through each of the three parts.
