Welcome to Healing the Hungry Ghost! 🪷 I’m Summer, a trauma therapist exploring the roots of stress, disconnection, and emotional suffering — and what it truly means to heal. In this video, we explore a crucial but often overlooked piece of the stress and trauma puzzle: the role of support in shaping how stress affects the body and mind. Support can include anything from emotionally safe relationships to access to helpful information to physical resources and having our basic needs met. How supported we feel is what makes stress tolerable instead of toxic. Without it, even small stressors can feel overwhelming. With it, we’re more likely to grow, adapt, and heal. Whether you're navigating chronic stress, trauma recovery, or mental health challenges, understanding this key difference can change how you manage stress to care for yourself and others.
