The Edward Hotel & Convention Center, originally built as the Hyatt Regency Dearborn, was constructed in 1976. It was a key part of a larger Ford-designed development that included a shopping mall and a people mover system. The Edward Hotel & Convention Center, formerly known as the Hyatt Regency Dearborn, had a variety of features including 773 guest rooms, a convention center, restaurants, a fitness center, and a revolving restaurant on its top floor. It also had a monorail connecting it to Fairlane Town Center, which has since been removed. The hotel originally opened with 800 rooms, making it the largest hotel in Michigan at the time. It currently has 773 rooms. The hotel included a large convention center with 51 meeting rooms, making it a popular venue for events restaurants, a bar, and room service. Guests had access to a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool. A Ford-designed monorail once transported guests between the hotel and Fairlane Town Center, but it was closed in 1988. The hotel's Rotunda featured a revolving 360 degree on the very Top floor, offering unique dining experiences. The hotel also offered an airport shuttle, dry cleaning services, and 24-hour front desk and check-in services. The Hotel closed in December 2018 due to a combination of safety violations and maintenance issues. The City deemed the building unfit for human occupancy after inspections revealed issues with the fire safety system, plumbing, elevators, and other areas, according to Detroit news sources. The hotel had previously operated as a Hyatt Regency before being renamed and undergoing several ownership changes. It was recently purchased by a private New Jersey developer and has actively renovated the building sense. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ——————————— If you guys would like to see Some photos I got from this place Be sure to check out my instagram I put the link right here | https://www.instagram.com/chris_conqu... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ——————————— If you guys would like to See TikTok’s of these places Be sure to check out our TikTok I’ll put the link right here | https://www.tiktok.com/@detroiturbane... . . . . . . . . .
