ABF seizes $4.5m worth of vapes in huge crackdown

The Australian Border Force has landed its first large-scale vape seizure since the introduction of new vaping regulations. The Border Force has stopped $4.5 million worth of vapes landing in the hands of Australians. The operation is part of a national crackdown on vape usage in a bid to protect youths from the health risks involved. Health Minister Mark Butler spoke about the importance of the crackdown, saying youths between 18 and 24 were most vulnerable to developing a vape or smoking addiction. The import of single-use vapes has been banned since the beginning of the year, and personal importation of other e-cigarette products will be prohibited from the first of March.
